Jesse Jackson an insurance policy for every intemperate speaker

Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert was taking a lot of heat for some harsh statements after LeBron James skipped town to sign with the Miami Heat.  But then along came Jesse Jackson, seeing a chance to get some face time on the television networks, to say Gilbert was treating James like “a runaway slave.”

Game, set and match to Jackson in the over-the-top statement competition.

The media’s reaction to the Molotov cocktails Gilbert lobbed is laughable.  It complains and complains and complains that public figure never say anything interesting.  Then when someone finally does say what he’s really thinking, the media reacts like a bunch of elderly nuns who’ve just heard the mildest of profanities come out of the mouth of a 7-year-old.
